The basics of the keyboard size

When we visit a digital store for a new keyboard, the shop assistants most likely start their service with the same question: which size do you prefer? Full size or slim size? It is not a hard question, but many people feel lost at this enquiry. Let’s take only one minute to figure it out.

At first, the full-size keyboard consists of 104-108 keys. It includes all functions of the standard keyboard designed in the modern society. We can take a look at the following illustration for the detailed information.

As shown above we know that there are six working areas covered by a full-size keyboard. If you are careful enough, you would easily find the most frequently used typing keys have been put in the center of the keyboard, and then the function keys and the control keys lie on the top and bottom of the typing keys. Next to the three keys, there are less important keys, including navigation keys, numeric keys and indicator lights.
